Ella Mae (Davis) Jenkins

Ella Mae Davis Jenkins, age 91 of Crumpler, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her home. She was born on April 3, 1930 in Ashe County to James Lillard Davis and Exie Roland Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Harley Jenkins, a son, Bill Jenkins, brothers, Lundy Davis, James Franklin Davis, and Robert Gale "Tom" Davis, sisters, Dorothy Davis and Louvon Davis, and a granddaughter-in-law, Jen Houck. Mrs. Jenkins was a lifelong member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She retired from Hanes Knit Products after 38 years of service. Ella Mae's main focus in life was her family with whom she dearly loved.

The family would like to thank Marcy Doby for the care she gave and the ability she had to make Ella Mae laugh. They would also like to thank the staff of Medi Home Hospice for their care and support.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by:  one son Jim Jenkins of Crumpler; one daughter, Barbara Jenkins Houck and husband Willie of Crumpler; one brother, Jack Davis of Crumpler; a daughter-in-law, Judy Jenkins; three grandchildren, Bobby Jenkins and wife Gina, Tim Houck and fiancée Charity, and Kevin Jenkins and wife Olivia; four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Hayden Jenkins, and Mason Jenkins. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jenkins will lie in state from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, the family will not be present. Graveside services will follow at Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Lonnie Jones.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Welcome Home Baptist Church.
