Ella Sue Brown Grogan, age 90 of Fleetwood, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Grogan was born October 19, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Foster and Viola Burkett Brown. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Glen Grogan, sisters, Roselie Goodman, Pauline Goodman and Ennice Jordan and brothers, David, Luther and Scott Brown. Ella Sue was a member of Mission Home Baptist Church and served as a children’s teacher and Bible school teacher. She worked as a cook at Fleetwood Elementary School for many years. She loved God and her family very much. She enjoyed helping others, working in her flower garden, quilting and crocheting.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Luke Watson. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Grogan is survived by sons, Sam Grogan and wife Francis and Dennis Grogan all of Fleetwood, grandchildren, Emily Roten and husband Michael, Amy Stidhams and husband Wesley, Justin Grogan and Greg Grogan, great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Lyle, Owen, Brysen and Maelyn Roten. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
