Elmer Carr

Elmer Lyle Carr, age 71 of West Jefferson, died Friday, December 13, 2002 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Carr was born February 3, 1931 in Johnson City, TN to Syrus and Letha Vance Carr.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Sunday December 15, 2002 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jack Miller and Rev. Steve Lasbomb officiated. Burial followed in the Midway Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Saturday, December 14 at Badger Funeral Home.

Wife: Virginia Carr

2 Sons: Jeffery Carr of Unicoy, TX & Jerry Carr of Jonesboro, TN

1 daughter: Libby Carr of Limestone, TN

2 stepdaughters: Joy Cockerham of Crumpler & Julia Mae of Wadesboro, NC

5 brothers: Joe Carr & Roby Carr of Johnson City, TN, Melvin Carr of Kingsport, TN, Willie Carr of Jonesboro, TN & Floyd Carr of Gray, TN

1 sister: Sarah Toth of Johnson City, TN

5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
