Mrs. Fannie Beatrice Brown Huffman passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Roy C. Huffman, her parents Estle and Martha Pugh Brown; brothers, Roy, Howard, Lida, Guy, Mack and Robert Brown; sisters: Cora Carter, Edith Carter, and Gertrude Brown; one grandson Teddy Huffman Jr.; one son-in-law, Bud Goodman; and one daughter-in-law, Jessie Huffman.
Fannie was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health prevented her from doing so. She was a great prayer warrior and loved studying the Bible. She cherished her family, friends, and neighbors and loved visits from all of them. She was a friend to all she met. She loved flowers. One of her joys was sharing all of her sewing, knitting and crocheting gifts with family and friends.
She is survived by three sons: Reverend Allen R. Huffman Sr. and wife Ann of Jefferson, Ted R. Huffman Sr. of West Jefferson, and Reverend John E. Huffman and wife Linda of Sparta, 2 daughters: Nancy Goodman of Jefferson, and Judy Cox and husband Richard of Laurel Springs. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Allen R. Huffman Jr. and wife Tammy, Angela Huffman, Amy McNeill and husband Jon, Jason Goodman and wife Dawn, Joel Goodman and wife Erica, Ellen Hampton and husband Toby, Adam Huffman and wife Melinda, Josh Huffman, Joe Huffman, Reverend Chris Cox and wife Sherry, and Missy Taylor and husband Tracy, as well at 16 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandsons, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Medi Home Hospice and her special friend and caregiver, Oretta Blevins for their care and support for Fannie over the years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Chris Cox. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Bald Mountain Baptist Church, 1435 Bald Mountain Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
