Faye (Barker) Leonard

Faye Leonard, age 87 of West Jefferson, died Thursday, August 12, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.  Faye was born August 27, 1933 in Ashe County to the late George Dewey and Emma McNeill Barker.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Mitchell.  Mrs. Leonard was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church.  She loved her family very much and gardening was her favorite hobby.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steve Leashomb.  Burial will follow in Barker-Eller-McNeill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 -2 pm prior to the service.

Mrs. Leonard is survived by, daughters, Janice Anita Prestwood and husband Lonnie of Highpoint and Karen Allen and husband John of Henderson, 5 grandchildren, Kendra Prestwood (David Lee), Alexandria Williams (Robert), Michael, Ariella and Jade Allen, 3 great-grandchildren, Finley and Hollis Williams and Kahlil Allen and 1 niece, Ann Cupp also survive.
