Florence "Willie" Peterson Scott

Florence Peterson Scott, better known as Willie age 99 of Jefferson passed away on Sunday morning at her residence.  Mrs. Scott was born on Sunday, January 18, 1920 in Salina, Utah to the late Delbert Brewster and Fern Gates Peterson.  In addition to her parents Florence was also preceded in death by her husband, Hersel Weaver Scott and several siblings; Elden Eudell, Lynford, Boyd Eageon, Reba May and Melvin McKee Peterson.  Willie and her late husband loved to travel throughout the United States and abroad.  She enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and working in her yard, she had a green thumb and could grow any type of flower.  Mrs. Scott was also a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Scott is survived by two daughters; Bonnie Scott of Georgia and Peggy Smith of New Jersey along with one sister; Glora Janeck of Oregon.  Willie also leaves behind a special friend, neighbor and caregiver, Teresa Eller.

Three grandchildren, Jeff Smith, Jennifer Joyce and David Smith, five great-grandchildren, Jake, Jessica, Charlotte, Erin and Emelia as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon on June 12, 2019 at 3:00 by Rev. David Lawrence.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm one hour prior to the service at Ashelawn.
