Forrest McMillan

Forrest Light McMillan, 93, of West Jefferson, died Saturday afternoon at his home. He was born on November 1, 1910 in Chestnut Hill to Charlie and Sara Fender McMillan. He worked in auto parts retail West Jefferson. He was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Friendly Grove Baptist Church in West Jefferson by the Rev. A. B. Weaver, Rev. Jerry Francis, and Rev. Charles Edwards. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00-9:00.
Mr. McMillan is survived by his wife: Velma Walters McMillan of the home, one son: Dean McMillan of Asheville; one daughter: Lois Ann Powell of Charlotte; one brother: J. T. McMillan of Boone, NC, 5 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, and a number of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
