View this Videotribute (Must have Broadband Connection to view Video Tribute)   Mr. Fred Dale Carter age 79 of Lansing, NC died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at his residence.  Mr. Carter was born on January 19, 1929 to the late Arthur and Rosa Hartzog Carter.  Fred was well known in the Lansing community having resided there with his wife Nell since 1970.  Fred grew up in the Little Windfall area and graduated from Lees McRae.  After working for a short time in Maryland, he returned to the area and went to work for Sprague Electric where he retired after 37 years of dedicated service.  Fred was known by all for his hard work and dedication to anything that he did.  He was always willing to give of himself and to lend a hand to anyone in need.  After retirement Fred took great pleasure in watching his grandsons playing various sports especially baseball.  Fred was an elder of the Foster Memorial and later of the Lansing Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where he attended faithfully until his passing.  He held several offices in the church including treasurer.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 2pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm Saturday prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nell Davis Carter of the home and son Tim, wife Robin and grandsons Dylan and Corey of Glendale Springs.  One brother, Dean Carter of California and one sister, Kathleen Rouse of Oveida Florida also survive.  The family asks that memorials be made to Lansing Presbyterian Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent to the family or can be viewed through our website www.badgerfuneralhome.com. Badger Funeral Home was entrusted with Mr. Carter's arrangements.
