Gary Dean Farmer age 69 of Warrensville died on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Farmer was born in Alexandria, Virginia on Sunday, September 25, 1949 to R.C. and Della Ray Weaver Farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, R.C. Farmer, two step-fathers, Riley Stike and Richard Miller, and two great-granddaughters, Skylar Marie Farmer and Willow Mae Farmer. He was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Gary enjoyed selling and dealing cars, being outdoors, riding four wheelers, cutting wood and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Farmer is survived by: his wife, Margaret Harris Farmer, two sons, Michael Farmer and wife Fay of Sparta and Andy Farmer and wife Christie of Independence, VA, one daughter, Angie Billings and husband Adam of Crumpler, his mother Della Ray Miller of Taylorsville, two brothers, Ronnie Farmer and wife Juanita of West Jefferson, and Tim Farmer of Warrensville, five sisters, Linda Messer and husband Everett of Salisbury, Betty Lorene Maine of Kernersville, Janice “J.C.” Penny of Archdale, Lisa Martin and husband Jay of Dobson, and Sandi Daughtry and husband Chris of Taylorsville, five grandchildren, Blake Farmer and wife Mindy of Sparta, Brandi Renae Farmer of Wytheville, VA, Justin Billings of Crumpler, Marissa Swift and husband Cody of Vilas, Rebekah Irene Farmer of Independence, VA, three great-grandchildren, Addison Marie Smith, Isaac Goodwin, William Corey Swift; fifteen nieces and nephews, and a number of great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Trey Ollis, Rev. Jerry Roten and Rev. Danny Farmer. Burial will follow in Farmers Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 noon prior to the service at Ashelawn.

The family is meeting at the home of his daughter Angie at 1947 NC Hwy 16 North in Crumpler.
