Gary Blaine Walker

Gary Blaine Walker passed away at his home in Silas Creek on January 20, 2025. He was born on May 21,1950 in Jefferson, NC to the late Lessie Mae Gilley Walker and Ervin James Walker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Coldiron.

He worked at Ashe County Ford for 30 years as a master mechanic. In retirement, he found joy in lifelong friendships, continued automotive work, and most importantly, the Lord and his family.

Gary leaves behind a lifelong legacy instilled in many that will continue to shine through those left behind.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Walker, four children, Michele Wellendorf (husband Curt), Gary James Walker (fiancé Sara), Blaine Walker (wife Crystal), and Ashley Walker.

Also surviving are grandchildren CJ Wellendorf, Hannah Wellendorf, Cooper Wellendorf, Zachary Walker, Lily Walker, Levi Walker, Connor Walker, Kayleigh Hoffman, and several nieces.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.

In this time of remembrance, we celebrate Gary’s life as one who was the glue to hold everyone together with his compassion, resilient spirit, and unwavering love that will be carried in the many hearts he has touched.
