Gene Haire

Gene Webster Haire, age 85 of West Jefferson, died Friday, January 10, 2003 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Haire was born February 3, 1917 in Ashe County to the late Mack and Nora Greer Haire. Mr. Haire was an engineer with the State Department of Transportation for 38 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday January 12th at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Wagoner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 12:30 till 1:30 at the church prior to the service. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Bill Watson, 1907 Park Vista Rd., West Jefferson, NC 28694 or to the Segraves Care Center, 200 Hospital Ave., Jefferson, NC 28640.

One brother: Carroll Haire of Winston Salem, NC

Two sisters: Irene Isaac of Lincolnton, NC & Helen Blackburn of West Jefferson, NC
A special friend, Margaret Watson of West Jefferson
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
