George "Bud" Judy

George “Bud” Judy, age 79 of Lansing passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home.  Mr. Judy was born on September 21, 1942 in Franklin, West Virginia to the late Biser Noah and Alta Cordilia Lambert Judy.  In addition to her parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Ann Ullmann Judy. Bud started out as a firefighter, working his way through the ranks to become Chief.  He was a member of the Hampton Bay Fire Department with twenty plus years of service.  Bud enjoyed building race cars, watching NASCAR races and was a Dale Earnhart Sr. fan.  Mr. Judy also served in the United States Air Force for four years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm.  Graveside services will follow in the Scott Blevins Cemetery with Military Rites.

Mr. Judy is survived by his wife, Ilona Ilonka Goepfert Judy, two sons, Ricky Judy of New York and Jason Judy of Salisbury, one daughter, Teresa “Tee” Thompson of Florida, one sister, Cordilia Sue Kimble of West Virginia, three brothers, Stephen Mitchell Judy of California, Biser Eldon Judy “Joe” and Richard Scott Judy both of West Virginia. Seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any local Volunteer Fire Department.
