Georgia Lou "Dot" (Hurley) Barker

Georgia Lou "Dot" Hurley Barker, age 87 of Lansing died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Barker was born April 3, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Jackie and Mallie Testerman Hurley.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Barker, infant son, David, brothers, Clifford and Kenneth Hurley, sister, Anna Lee Hurley Goodman and foster brother, Sonny Brooks.  Georgia was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.  She loved gardening, and was known for her lovely dahlias.  She also loved quilting and collecting roosters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tommy Wurth and Rev. Charles McCoy.  Burial will follow in the Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM prior to the service.

Mrs. Barker is survived by special friend and caregiver, Flora Barker of Lansing and several nieces and nephews.
