Gerald Edward Ball, Jr., affectionately known as Jerry or Junior, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He was born in Ashe County on October 12, 1969 to Vicky Sue McClure and Gerald Edward Ball, Sr.
He was a faithful member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures, especially through his love for hunting and fishing. He was a steadfast presence for his family, known for his loyalty, contentment, and appreciation of life's small blessings. He enjoyed spending time in his man cave, where he could often be found cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers or watching a ball game with friends.
Throughout his career, Jerry dedicated 28 years to Lowes Foods and also contributed his talents to Triangle Vending, Food Lion and AEV.
As a loving son, devoted husband, and doting father, Jerry cherished his time with his family, particularly their cherished Friday outings together with his daughters. He treasured every moment spent with them.
Mr. Ball is survived by: his wife, Brenda Barlow Ball; two daughters, Jadyn Ball and Meagan Ball, both of the home; his parents, Gerald Ball, Sr. and Vicky Sue Ball of Grassy Creek; mother and father in-law, Boyd and Joyce Barlow of Crumpler, sisters in-law, Alice Bishop and husband Nathan of Midvale, Utah and Susan Barlow of Crumpler; also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Evan Roten. Private family burial will follow in Ball Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Long Branch Baptist Church.
