Gladys Louise Mahaffey

Gladys Louise Mahaffey, age 85 of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born in Ashe County on May 2, 1937 to the late Andrew Harrison and Betty Elizabeth Osborne Mahaffey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, two brothers, Delmar Burl Mahaffey, Lillard Junior Mahaffey, three sisters, Delray Widner, Irene Mahaffey, and Virginia Dare Lyalls. Gladys worked for Ashe Memorial Hospital, Holly Farms and later Sprague Electric. She enjoyed going to get things in West Jefferson. Miss Mahaffey was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Lansing and eagerly attended often.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mitchell Mash.  Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery. Miss Mahaffey will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

Mrs. Mahaffey survived by, three sisters, Tressie Darnell and Magdalene Mahaffey both of the home and Thelma Campbell of Lenoir and one brother, Elmer Mahaffey (Betty) of Lansing. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
