Gloria Lasley
Gloria "Eugenia" Lasley, age 60 of Boone, formerly of the Silas Creek area died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the Watauga Medical Center.
She was born on January 12, 1943 to the late Parker Moody Dickson and Curtis Margaret Rose Dickson. Ms. Lasley worked with the Peace Corps. teaching college in Ukraine. She earned her Master's degree in English, and another Master's degree in Russian language and literature. She was an avid protector of the environment and was very active in her causes.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2003 at Trinity First United Methodist church with Rev. Peter Parish officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 - 9 P.M. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St. NW, Washington DC, 20037.

One son, Darren Emery Lasley of Charlotte
One sister, Kay Reita Dickson of Boone
Four brothers: Charles Harold Dickson of Asheville;Reggie Dickson of Battle Creek, MI; Sheldon Dickson of Riverview, MI;Chase Allen Dickson of San Jose, CA
One granddaughter, Anna Rachael Lasley
And several nieces and nephews.
Ashelawn Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
