Harold Gene Miller, age 73 of Lansing, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home. He was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on February 17, 1951 to the late Luther Burl and Ethel Clark Miller, and throughout his life, Harold was cherished by those who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Burl Miller and one brother, Elwood Miller.
Harold found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen relaxing on his front porch, where he could simply enjoy his surroundings. He loved football, watching and following the games and discussing them with friends and family. Harold liked to watch races on TV as well as westerns.
Those who knew Harold remember him as a man of few words but with a subtle, yet undeniable sense of humor. His quiet demeanor earned him the affection of his community.
Mr. Miller is survived by four children, daughter; Shana Miller Copeland (Jeff) of Lansing, son; Randy Miller (Tammy) of Lansing, daughter; Courtney Barker (Kelly) of Glendale Springs and son, Kelly Miller of Lansing, one brother, Michael Miller (Debbie) of Lansing. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Cassandra, Shawnee, Josh, Mariah, Colton, Josiah, Bryson, Baylee, Brooklynn, Kaiden and Kelsey, as well as 11 great-grandchildren, Kailey, Kason, Greyson, Ronan, Daemon, Sullivan, Lilly, Kent, Brynleigh, Kayden and Brooklyn. Niece, Laniece Holman (Dustin) and his aunt, Ardene Testerman also survive.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Graveside services will follow in the Pond Mountain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel; 3470 US Highway 221 N. Jefferson, NC 28640.
Harold Gene Miller leaves behind a legacy of simple pleasures, quiet strength, and a gentle spirit that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
