HARRY EDWARD JARMAN, JR. MUSICIAN Harry Edward Jarman, Jr., 76, of West Jefferson, formerly of Milford, Delaware, died Tuesday, March 20, with his wife Carolyn by his side. He was born in Berlin, Maryland, to the late Harry E. Jarman, Sr., and Marie (Richardson) Jarman. The oldest of 10 children, he graduated from Smyrna High School in 1955, and served in the U.S Army and Army Reserves. He married his wife Carolyn (Marsh) Jarman in 1956. He was a business broker and commercial Realtor in Dover and Milford before retiring to West Jefferson in 2006. Harry was passionate about football. After playing for his high school team, he officiated high school and junior college football. He shared his love for the game by coaching Pop Warner football for many years and was the coach of a semi-professional football team, the Dover Destroyers, during its first season. On any given weekend during the fall he could be found watching college and professional football. He enjoyed working in his yard and could repair nearly anything. A natural musician, he taught himself to play several instruments including the tenor sax and upright bass, which he played in various jazz and dance bands along the East Coast. He truly believed that there were no strangers in life, only friends he hadn't met yet, and he made many, many friends. He is survived by his devoted wife Carolyn; his daughter, Laura Jarman Byrum, of Milford, Delaware; daughter Linda Saccardi, and husband Terry, of Lewes, Delaware; son Harry E. Jarman, III, and his wife Jody, of Milford, Delaware, and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. A memorial service will be held in Milford Delaware, on Monday, April 2, at Rogers Funeral Home. Local arrangements were provided by Badger Funeral Home, West Jefferson.
