Harry "Pete" Dean Lewis

Harry Dean Lewis, better known as “Pete”, age 78 of West Jefferson passed away on Thursday, February 18,  2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lewis was born in Ashe County Tuesday, May 26, 1942 to the late Hillary Emmons and Mable Perkins Lewis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sisters and a brother, William Abraham Lewis.

Mr. Lewis is survived by: his wife – Ruth Miller Lewis, two sons - Chris Lewis of West Jefferson and Tim Lewis of Creston, one brother- Jack Lewis of West Jefferson, two sisters - Edith Kemp Roten of West Jefferson and Ruth Ann Eldreth of Todd; also surviving are 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lewis will lie in state on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. The family will not be present. Graveside services will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery.
