Hazel Stallard Rash, age 88, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at PruittHealth Rehabilitation Center, Harrisburg, NC. She was born Jan. 22, 1928 in Lindell, VA to the late John Fullen Stallard and Loretta Clementine Poston Stallard. She was a longtime resident of West Jefferson, NC and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was retired from Hanes Manufacturing after many years as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lemont Rash; her sisters, Virginia Taylor, Lola Stallard, Hettie Woodward, Joyce Atkins and Helen Long, and brothers; John Stallard, Egbert Stallard and George Stallard. Survivors include one brother, David Stallard and wife Pat of Ft. Worth, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23 at 2 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, NC, with the Rev. Mark Wiest officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2, prior to the services.
