Helen (Turner) Richardson

Helen Turner Richardson, age 84 of Warrensville, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Watauga Medical Center. Mrs. Richardson was born on August 27, 1937 in Ashe County to Howard and Hattie Riley Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles “Buck” Richardson, three brothers, Herman Turner, Herbert Turner, and Hurley Turner, and two sisters, Hopal Turner and Hester Jones.

Mrs. Richardson liked working in her flowers and traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by:  two daughters, Patsy (Bob) Austin of Mouth of Wilson, VA and Peggy (Johnny) Childres of Warrensville; one granddaughter, Vickie Flanagan of Lansing; five great-grandchildren, Bailey (Chris) Young of Lansing, Aly Gartside of West Jefferson, Brooklyn Flanagan and Autumn Flanagan of Crumpler, and Dillon (Drew) Flanagan of Wilmington; five great-great-grandchildren, Gabe, Hattie, Cooper, Kinslee, and Ember; one sister, Hollie Blevins of Alexandria, VA; two brothers, Halbert Turner of Newton and Rick Richardson of Warrensville; two half-brothers and four half-sisters; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
