Mrs. Helen Lyle Rose age 98, of West Jefferson, NC died on Monday, April 25, 2011 at  Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Rose was born on January 4, 1913 in Ashe County, to James Worth and Flossie Byrd Lyle. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Rose and son, Wade Rose. Mrs. Rose and her late husband owned and operated Rose's Grocery Store in Glendale Springs for many years.  She also worked at the Trading Post in Glendale Springs until she was 87 years old. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Elliott Osowitt. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Mrs. Rose is survived by: 3 grandchildren: Mary Munsey of the home, Virginia Blevins of Surf City & John Scott Rose and wife Teresa of Raleigh Former daughter-in-law and husband: Gwen and Dave Ashley of Jefferson and step-grandson: David Ashley of Charlotte 7 great-grandchildren:  Tina Ham and husband Matt of Lansing, Michael W. Hart of Raleigh, Jason H. Blevins of Mountain City, TN, Tyler and Kate Rose both of Raleigh, Katie and Sarah Ashley both of Charlotte 3 great-great-grandchildren:  Luke Rupard, Jackson and Braxton Ham all of Lansing 1 sister: Zeffa Minton of North Wilkesboro Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to High Country Healthcare System Hospice PO Box 421 Jefferson, NC 28640 or Wade Rose Memorial Chapel c/o Ashe Memorial Hospital, 200 Hospital Ave., Jefferson, NC 28640.
