Herman R. Sheets

Herman R. Sheets age 73 of Glendale Springs died Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 at Margate Health and Rahab Center. Mr. Sheets was born Friday, October 6, 1944 in Glendale Springs to Irdell and Eula Farrington Sheets. Including his parents he was preceded in death by, two brothers, George and Richard Sheets, sister, Eula F. Sheets, and his beloved wife Bobbie Gail Sheets. Herman was a hardworking man, retiring from Cardinal Quarry. Spending time with his family and his church family were some of his happiest times. He was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church where he has served as Deacon since 1995.

Mr. Sheets is survived by: three daughters, Denise Woodie and husband Keith, Leslie Williams and husband Buster, and Natalie Sheets all of Glendale Springs, two brothers, Hobert Sheets of West Jefferson, Russell Sheets of Glendale Springs, one sister, Phyllis Miller of Jefferson, three grandchildren, Matthew Woodie and wife Mandy, Gavin Woodie, Bobbie Jean Greene and husband Aaron, two great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Woodie and ZuZu River Greene; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Sonny Thomas, Rev. Keith Woodie and Rev. Russell Sheets. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, March 5, 2018 at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

The family is meeting at the home of Keith and Denise Woodie, 180 BJ Drive in Glendale Springs.
