Mr. Homer Allen Roten age 64 of Glendale Springs died Friday, August 14, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Roten was born in Wilkes County on June 22, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fieldon and Flossie Roten, his brothers, Herman Roten, Howard Roten, sisters, Bobbie Roten, and Billie Jean Miller. Mr. Roten was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church of Glendale Springs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 2:00pm at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church by Rev. Sonny Thomas, Rev. Dayton Roten and Rev. Eric Miller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home. Mr.  Roten is survived by, his wife, Barbara Severt Roten, two sons, Barry Roten & wife Tammy of West Jefferson, Adam Roten and wife Lisa of Glendale Springs,  two daughters, Lisa R. Howell of Glendale Springs, Brenda Wagner & husband Neal of West Jefferson, one brother, Robert Dale Roten of Glendale Springs, four sisters, Hallie Bell of Wilkesboro, Helen Snyder, Louella Staley and Faye Roten all of Glendale Springs, 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Holman, Deanna Wagner, Nichole Wagner, Chris Roten, Jada Roten, Brent Roten, Ella Hartzog, Clayton Hartzog, 2 great-grandchildren, Destiny and Jacob Holman, several nieces and nephews also survive.
