Howard Blackburn

Howard Linney Blackburn age 88 of West Jefferson, NC died Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Ashe Living Center. Mr. Blackburn was born on August 26, 1914 in Ashe County, NC (Idlewild Community) to Lawrence Decatur and Highly Caroline Calloway Blackburn.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 8:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roger Newton and Rev. Tom Graybeal will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2002 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hartzog Cemetery. The family request that memorials be made to the Hartzog Cemetery Fund, 3226 Idlewild Rd., West Jefferson, NC 28694 or to the Pineswamp Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Shelby Hartzog, 3789 Hartzog Ford Rd., West Jefferson, NC 28694.

Dr. Thomas Charles Blackburn and wife Dr.Katherine Bell of Chapel Hill, NC

Sister: Bessie Mae Hartzog of West Jefferson, NC

Grandchildren: Ronald Dean Blackburn and wife Maria of Clemmons, NC
Phillip Owen Blackburn and wife Anita of Pfafftown, NC

Great Grandchildren: Heather Anne and Kristian Owen Blackburn of Pfafftown, NC: Dylan Evan and Chad Edward Blackburn of Clemmons, NC

Several nieces and nephews also survive.
