Howard Hampton Davis

Howard Hampton Davis, a beloved husband, father, and pillar of his community, Pfafftown, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on July 18, 1951, in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Ford Davis and Laurene Anderson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Bryan Hampton Davis.

Howard was a man of many interests and talents. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing the moments spent fishing in serene waters, hunting in the wilderness, and watching classic western movies and football games. His love for the outdoors was evident in every adventure he embarked upon, and his culinary skills were unparalleled, especially when it came to grilling steaks and ribs, a cherished pastime shared with family and friends.

Professionally, Howard dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving as a bail bondsman, earning the respect and admiration of his community. His many years of commitment and dedication earned him a reputation as a trusted and dependable figure in times of need.

Howard was a devoted husband to Mirna, his beloved wife, and a loving father to his children. Howard's warmth and generosity extended beyond his immediate family, embracing the extended family of his wife Mirna with open arms.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mirna L. Eskelsen, one son, Benjamin Davis of Marshville, two brothers, Bob Davis and Paul Davis both of West Jefferson and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Bishop Luis De la Cruz and Rev. Herb Parunak.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Howard’s memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
