IvaDean Roark Smith Fox

IvaDean Roark Smith Fox, age 73, of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Smith was born May 24, 1951 in Ashe County to Edward Lee and Blanche Roark. She was a member of Round Knob Baptist Church in Ashe County and enjoyed gardening and going to Cherry Grove beach in South Carolina. IvaDean was formerly the Director of Nursing at Britthaven Nursing Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Reeves and Raymond Roark; and sister, Ruby Roark Mates.

 IvaDean is survived by her spouse, Stephen Fox; brothers, Roy Roark and Russell Roark both of Ashe County; sister, ImoJean Smith of Wilkes County; furry daughter, Piper; and loved by numerous nieces and nephews and IvaDean loved them all.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Round Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Sheets, Rev. Jack Pugh and Rev. Doug Thomasson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9956 or to The International Gideons, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800. The family has requested no food.
