Ivorene (Beckford) Young

During a family’s time of loss, understandably family and friends would like to visit and express their sympathy. Ivorene Beckford Young, age 92 of Crumpler passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Margate Health and Rehab.  Mrs. Young was born on, Monday August 29, 1927 in the Hanover Parish of Jamaica to the late Sewell Beckford and Maybell Campbell.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Young, one son, two brothers and two sisters.  Ivorene moved to the United States in 1969, then to North Carolina in the year 2005.  She was a former caretaker for Caroline Kennedy.

Mrs. Young is survived locally by one son, Horace Thompson and wife Sue of Crumpler, two sons of Jamaica, one son of Virginia, a daughter and son of Florida, one daughter of Connecticut and one sister of Jamaica.  Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service to honor the life of Ivorene Young will be held at a later date.
