James Clifford Caudill

James Clifford Caudill age 92 of Lansing, died Saturday, March16, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab Center.  Mr. Caudill was born August 21, 1926 in Ashe County to the late James and Edna Testerman Caudill.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Louise Caudill, Ethel Lyalls, Bertie Campbell and Bonnie Jones and his brother, Edward Desmond Caudill.  Mr. Caudill served in WWII in the US Army Air Corps and was stationed in the Philippines.  He was a member and deacon at New River Baptist Church.  Mr. Caudill was a troop leader with the Boy Scouts in Lansing.  After his retirement he enjoyed working in his shop.  He was a joy to be around and never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at New River Baptist Church by Rev. Wayne Jones, Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Russell Sheets.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Wednesday, March 20th at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Caudill is survived by his wife, Ema Lou Brown Caudill, son, Denver Caudill and wife Rita of Lansing, daughter, Anita Testerman and husband Ralph of Wilkesboro, brothers, Gary Caudill and wife Mitzy and Blair Caudill and wife Shirley all of Lenoir, grandchildren, James Caudill of Lansing, Tonya Denny and husband Lee of Creston and Jeremy Testerman and wife Amanda of Wilkesboro, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
