James Mack Gore, age 86 of Crumpler, NC, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 at his home. Mr. Gore was born December 28, 1920 in Grayson County, VA to the late Wayne and Maggie Poe Gore. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Brown and a brother, Bill Gore. Mr. Gore proudly served his country as a Naval Petty officer in WWII. He was stationed in the South Pacific for 22 months working in radio communications. Mr. Gore was a deacon at the New River Baptist Church where he attended for close to 50 years. He was a member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Jones, Rev. Randall Greene and Rev. Garry Snow will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 9th at Badger Funeral Home. Four brothers: Lee Gore of Idaho, Charles Gore of Volney, VA, John Gore of Texas and Tommy Gore of Jefferson, NC
Three sisters: Edith Cullem of Florida, Lena Brown of Crumpler, NC and Wanda Fangmayer of Maryland
5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
