James Houck

Mr. James Ervin Houck, better known as Ervin age 66 of West Jefferson died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his home. Mr. Houck was born in Ashe County on May 10, 1941 to the late David Reece and Lena Mae Goodman Houck. Including his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Thomas Houck. He served during the Korean conflict as a member of the US Army. He retired from Skyline Telephone after 33 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 11:00am at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Chris Cox. Burial will follow in the Big Flatts Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Monday, June 11, 2007 at Badger Funeral Home. Mr. Houck is survived by, his wife, Betty Gentry Houck, one son, Willie James Houck and wife Linda of Granite Falls, one daughter, Donna Coldiron and husband Danny of Fleetwood, one brother, Willie Houck of Jefferson, two sisters, Shirley South and Joann Church both of West Jefferson, 7 grandchildren, Chad Coldiron, Eric Coldiron, Mathew Houck, Holly Hodge, Makala Houck, Tammy Saldana, Britany Saldana, 3 great-grandchildren, Adam Coldiron, Corbin Coldiron, Nicholas Coldiron, a caring neighbor Martin Saldana and several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Big Flatts Baptist Church. You may send your condolences to the family through our website www.badgerfuneralhome.com.
