James Harley Jenkins

Mr. James Harley Jenkins age 89, of Crumpler, died on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home. Mr. Jenkins was born on May 5, 1927 in Ashe County. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Jenkins, two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Jenkins member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time with his family. Served in the US Navy during World War II.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lonnie Jones. Burial will follow in Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by: his wife, Ella Mae Jenkins, two sons, Bill Jenkins and wife Judy, Jim Jenkins both of Crumpler, daughter, Barbara Houck and husband Willie of Crumpler, three grandsons, Bobby Jenkins and wife Gina, Tim Houck, and wife Jen, Kevin Jenkins and wife Olivia, four great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Andrew, Hayden, Mason Jenkins; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to Welcome Home Baptist Church, c/o Debbie Pennington, 4087 US Hwy 221 N., Jeffeson, NC 28640..
