James Roten

James Conley Roten, better known as Jamie, age 40, of Warrensville, NC died on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC. Mr. Roten was born on September 4, 1969 in Ashe County, NC to Conley and Brenda Osborne Roten. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany for four years during Operation Desert Storm. He enjoyed spending time with family, trips to the beach, playing games, comic books, and Dallas Cowboys football. He enjoyed his work as a police officer in Wilmington, NC and a security officer at Nashville Women's prison. He was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church in Creston, NC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:30 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Jimmy Galgano. Burial will follow in the Roten-Graybeal Cemetery in Warrensville, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel prior to the funeral service. Flowers will be appreciated.  Mr. Roten is survived by: his fiancee - Amy Blevins; two daughters - Nikki Appolon of Quakertown, PA, and Brittany Roten of Warrensville, NC; stepson - Dillon Stevens of Nashville, TN; his parents - Conley and Brenda Osborne Roten; two brothers - Robert "Opie" Roten and wife Donna of West Jefferson, NC, and Ricky Roten and fiancee Amy Lee of Warrensville, NC; grandson - Jonathan Appolon Jr.; two nephews - David Roten and Luke Roten.
