James Edward Shepherd

James Edward Shepherd, better known as Jim, age, 85 of Warrensville passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shepherd was born in Ashe County, NC on March 28, 1937 to the late Frank and Goldie Eller Shepherd.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Shepherd, a sister, Pat Campbell, and brother, Lewis Shepherd.  Jim was a very hard working man. He never complained or had a bad word to say about anyone. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Elliott Shepherd, one daughter, Wanda Farrington and husband James of North Wilkesboro, one grandson, Angelo Farrington of California, one brother, Leon Shepherd and wife, Sandy of Warrensville, four sisters, Myrle Carlton and husband, Wayne of Winston Salem, Myrna Phillips and husband, Bruce of Winston Salem, Kathryn Barr of Lansing, and Lynn Shepherd of Durham. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Farrington, and Rev. Carlton Houck officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home.
