James Odell Wilson II "Skip"

James Odell Wilson II better known as “Skip” age 73 of West Jefferson died on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Wilson was born on April 6, 1949 in Richmond, VA to the late James Odell and Bettie Wagoner Wilson.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Amanda S. Wilson.

Skip was a member of Pine Swamp Baptist Church, he was passionate about working for God and educating children.  He will be remembered as a great "Poppy".

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Cathy Wilson, step-daughter, Mallory Faw (Chris) of West Jefferson, three brothers, Russ Wilson and Keith Wilson (Beverly) both of Lewisville and Joe Wilson (Jan) of Eastbend, nieces, Jessica Baldwin (Lee Huffman) and Christine Hooker (Tommy), nephew, Justin Wilson (Stacey), great nieces, Aria and Payton Wilson, Amelia and Eleanor Hooker, great nephew, Jarod Baldwin, granddaughters, Kinley Greene and Sophia Faw and grandson, Knox Faw.  Also surviving are special nieces and nephews, Marion Eggers (Holly, Lane and Hazel), and Dale Townsend (Kristy and children).  Special family Richard and Pam Greene, Bryan Greene and Karin Bare as well as his Pine Swamp and Mission Home Church families.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:00pm at Pine Swamp Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Viers and Marion Eggers.
