James "Jimmy" Thomas Jones

James Thomas Jones, better known as Jimmy, age 78 of Lenior, North Carolina, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice Home. Mr. Jones was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on Thursday, December 25, 1941 to the late Tom and Earsel “Ted” Pennington Jones.  In addition to his parents Jimmy is also preceded in death by his first wife, Louise and two brothers, Rodger and Bill Jones.  Jimmy enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching NASCAR Races in his spare time.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Anita Jones, one son, Austin Jones of Lenoir, one daughter, Shelia Jones of Wilkesboro, one sister, Margaret Jones of Wilkesboro and one brother, Johnny Jones of Sugar Grove, Virginia.  Two grandchildren, Andrew Pollard of Crumpler and Amanda Bare of Miller's Creek, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2:00pm at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson, North Carolina by Rev. Sam Craven, Rev. James Hicks and Rev. Lloyd Day.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service.
