James "Joe" Joseph Adams

James Joseph Adams, better known as Joe, age 85 of Jefferson, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Foley Center in Blowing Rock.  Mr. Adams was born February 29, 1936 in Ashe County.  He served in the United States Air Force.  Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Nannie Lou Adams, his wife, Ella Mae Blevins Adams and son, Joseph Alan Adams.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Sexton Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day.

Mr. Adams is survived by, his daughter, Anita Chamberlain and husband Joe of West Jefferson, sister, Ann Griffitts of Lansing, grandchildren, Rachel DelGrande of Boston and Josh Ferguson of Wilkesboro,  step-grandchildren, Nick Chamberlain of Charlotte and Ben Chamberlain of West Jefferson,  great-grandchildren, P. J. and Callan DelGrande. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
