Janis Dianne (Goss) Pennington

Janis Dianne Goss Pennington age 71 of West Jefferson passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Pennington was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 30, 1949 to the late Jesse Willard Goss and Ardeen Taylor Goss Boyer. Janis was proud to be a nurse at Ashe Memorial Hospital and always cared for the patients she worked with. She was known for her love of Christmas decorating and loved to collect Christmas ornaments. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, spending time at their camper on Lake James and most importantly, spending time with her family.

Mrs. Pennington is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Duane Pennington, two daughters, Christy Michelle Pennington, and Heather Elaine Pennington both of West Jefferson, one brother, Jesse Clint Goss and wife Joann of Texas, one sister, Wanda Lee Goss Baker and husband James of Raleigh, four grandchildren, Megan Gale Neaves, Jesse David Earp, MaKayla Belle Earp and Tanner Phillip Grogan; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private services will be held and entombment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer.

A public celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
