Jerry "Bud" Jones, a cherished member of Greens Chapel Baptist Church, has peacefully passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1949, in Jefferson, NC, to the late Thomas Howard and Faye Barker Jones. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Pruitt and granddaughter, Abigail Faith Jones. Jerry found joy in crafting birdhouses and exploring the world with his beloved brother, Troy. His dedication to his faith exemplified his gentle spirit and kind heart.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Howell Hill Cemetery by Rev. David Brooks, Rev. Roy Putman and Rev. Jimmy Eldreth.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Louise Hash Jones, one son, Michael Lee Jones (Belinda) of Crumpler, one brother, Troy Lee Jones of Lansing, grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Autumn Blackburn), Hunter, Parker and Cooper Jones, step-grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Barnes, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rachel Wolfe (Ralph) of Statesville, James Hash (Linda) of Sparta and Wilma Barker of Lansing and the mother of his grandchildren, Matthew and Hunter, Stephanie Jones of Wilkesboro. Two nieces and several cousins also survive.
In the hearts of those who survive him, Jerry "Bud" Jones will forever be remembered as a soul who shared kindness, laughter, and an unwavering love for life. May his memory bring comfort during this time of mourning as we celebrate the life of a remarkable individual whose legacy will live on in the hearts of many.
