Jesse Dean Miller

Jesse Dean Miller, better known as J.D., age 68 of Crumpler, North Carolina died Monday morning, May 13, 2019 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Miller was born on Monday, May 15, 1950 in Ashe County to the late Luther and Viola Howell Miller.  Jesse was known as a hard worker and loved being outdoors.  He also enjoyed hunting, working on the farm and doing wood and metal work.  Mr. Miller served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 21 years; Linda Lewis Miller, daughter; Amy Miller of West Jefferson, son; Scottie and wife Deborah Miller of Sevieville, TN, step-daughters; Dawn and husband, Charlie Hall and Patty and husband Jared Duncan, sister; Marie Lambert of Jefferson, brothers; Larry Miller of Johnson City, TN, Garry and wife Pat Miller of West Jefferson and Alvin and wife Betty Jean of Lansing.  Two grandchildren; Raven Poplin and Drake Harrington, step-grandchildren; Samantha (Josh) Casey, Clay Sizemore, Cole (Tana) Sizemore, Thomas Jones and Kaitlynn Jones and fiance Luke Mallette.  Seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services for Mr. Miller will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel at 5:00 pm by Rev. Lloyd Day.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Thursday evening one hour prior to the service.
