Jimmie Faw Young age 72 of Grassy Creek died Friday, August 23, 2019 at SECU Hospice Center in Yadkinville. He was born in Ashe County to the late Walter Bassett and Margaret Virginia Faw Young on Saturday, November 16, 1946. Jimmie had been involved in cattle farming all his life starting as a young boy. He was employed at Leviton Manufacturing as a machinist, and continued his machine work after retirement at his shop at home. He could often be found working on his or a neighbors farm equipment. Jimmie was a member of Ashe Masonic Lodge and a member of Helton Methodist Church. Mr. Young was a good neighbor, supported his community and was devoted to his church and family. He enjoyed bluegrass music and listening to his granddaughter Taylon sing.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with masonic rites.

Mr. Young is survived by: his wife, Linda Young, one daughter, Tara Young Miller and husband Chris of Tennessee, one son, Todd Young of Grassy Creek, one granddaughter, Taylon Miller, one aunt, Eva Faw Kennedy; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

The family respectfully requests no food please.
