Jimmy Ray Baldwin

Jimmy Ray Baldwin, age 78 of Lansing passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born on September 3, 1945 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Banner and Bertha Eldreth Baldwin.

In addition to his parents Jimmy was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Shepherd Baldwin, an infant daughter Patricia Dawn Baldwin, sister, Shirley Testerman, brother, Earl “Brub” Baldwin as well as several infant siblings.

He is survived by two daughters, Victoria Baldwin Shepherd (Tommy) of West Jefferson, Beverly Baldwin Jones (Mark) of Crumpler, three grandchildren, Thomas Shepherd (Tammie), Zach Shepherd (Angela) and Megan Shepherd as well as two great-grandchildren, Jason and Thomas. Also surviving, one brother-in-law, Charles Shepherd (Sharon) of Richmond, VA, special cousin, Evelyn and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy worked 38 years for Thomasville Furniture until the factory closed. He then worked for Vannoy’s Construction until his health forced him to retire. Jimmy was a devoted husband and father. His greatest devotion was being the caregiver of his beloved wife for 20 years.

Jimmy was a follower of Jesus Christ and is now united with his Lord and Savior and reunited with the love of his life, Patricia.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Brooks Cemetery in Lansing by Rev. Lonnie Carpenter and Rev. William Greer.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday evening, July 25, 2024 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
