Jimmy Ray Lewis

Jimmy Ray Lewis, age 54 of Creston, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lewis was born on July 4, 1967 in Watauga County to the late Bruce Ray Lewis and Crissie Winebarger Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a member of Pine Mountain Baptist Church and was a member of the Creston Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He loved his family. He enjoyed driving a school bus and working with the kids.

Mr. Lewis is survived by:  two brothers, Sampson Lewis and wife Angie of Lansing and Brian Lewis and wife Amanda of Purlear; three nephews, Bruce Lewis, Levi Lewis, and James Lewis; one niece, Amelia Lewis; also surviving are several step-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Pine Mountain Baptist Church by Rev. Rector Henson. Burial will follow in the Jones-Lewis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Pine Mountain Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
