Jimmy Darrell Stevens

Jimmy Darrell Stevens, age 66 of West Jefferson passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Stevens was born on June 1, 1956 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late John Wade Sr. and Imogene Gentry Stevens.  He was also preceded in death by  a son, Joshua Clay Stevens, two brothers, John Wade Stevens Jr. and Jerry Stevens as well as one sister, Alecia Kay Stevens Hayworth.

Jimmy loved to fish and hunt, some of his other hobbies included hunting for arrowheads, crafting and making jewelry.  He was also a carpenter and wood worker and could be described as "being good at just about everything."

Mr. Stevens is survived by one son, Timothy Stevens of Fleetwood, one daughter, Kimberly Stevens of Wilkesboro, five grandchildren, Karissa McClure, Akira Anderson, Riley Stevens, Jersey Stevens and Max Stevens, two great-grandchildren, Marcellus Anderson and Ella Grace Stevens and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Celebration of life services to honor Jimmy and his mother, Imogene Stevens will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Hopkins, Rev. Jack Pugh and Rev. Burl Greer officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-1:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.
