Jimmy Carroll Testerman "Big Jim"

Jimmy Carroll Testerman, better known as Big Jim, age 82 of Lansing, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at his home.  Mr. Testerman was born March 6, 1940 in Ashe County to the late Wilson and Pearl Blevins Testerman.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Baldwin Testerman, daughter, Geneva Cooper and five brothers and one sister.  Big Jim was a rascal and a jokester who never knew a stranger.  He loved talking about history and Horse Creek and enjoyed working with cattle.  He was a hard worker and worked at Thomasville Furniture for over 30 years.  He missed his wife, Shirley very much.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Lundy Finley.  Burial will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 prior to the service.

Mr. Testerman is survived by, 3 daughters, Debbie McClure of Jefferson, Tammy Thomas Testerman of West Jefferson and Cindy Matkins Testerman of Lansing, 8 grandchildren, Christina and Joey McKiddy, Jeff and Natasha McClure, Christy Matkins, Bryan Matkins (Paula Fox), Jonathan Hicks (Kristen) and Jered Hicks (Bailey) 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, special friends, Tom Hamm, Gary Walker, Thelma Taylor and Cliff Matkins. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
