J. M. "Bud" Reed

J. M. “Bud” Reed, age 70 of Laurel Springs died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home.  Mr. Reed was born July 24, 1947 in Alleghany County to the late Blaine and Roy Evelyn Church Reed.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charlie “Clive” Reed and sister, Beverly Hamm.  Bud loved to spend time with his family.  He also enjoyed piddling around on the farm, driving his tractor and fishing.  He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Welcome Home Baptist Church by Rev. Lonnie Jones and Brother Danny Hamm.  Burial will follow in the Austin Richardson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Reed is survived by: His wife, Pat Reed, daughter, Angie Wingler and husband Edward of Scottsville, brother, Rodney Reed and wife Anna of Laurel Springs, sister, Deloris Hardin of Mississippi, grandchildren, Kendra Wheeler of Fort Mill, SC and Brandon Wingler of Scottville, step-daughter, Donna Savage of Sparta, step-son, Tony Barker of Jefferson, step-grandchildren, Kristen Savage and Hallie Savage of Sparta and Jake Barker of Jefferson and several nieces and nephews.
