Joanne Johnson

Joanne Taylor Johnson, 75, of Guilford County, NC formerly of Ashe County, NC died Tuesday September 25th, 2012, at her home. Joanne was born on March 13, 1937 in Ashe County, NC to the late Myrtle Jane Patrick Taylor and Eli Junior Taylor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Johnson, Jr. and Brother Walter B. Taylor. Although she left Ashe County at age 11, she retained a deep love for it and the many relatives and friends she had there and in neighboring Johnson County, TN. Joanne was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Surviving are two sons- Joseph A. Johnson III and wife Annette, of Browns Summit, NC and Jason A. Johnson of Guilford County, NC; Brothers- Duane Taylor and wife Debra of Blacksburg, VA and Norman Taylor of Siler City, NC; Sister- Helen McNair and husband Larry of Roanoke, VA; Granddaughters- Meagan A. Johnson of Greensboro, NC, Whitney Johnson Levens of Lewisville, NC and Lauren Rigsbee and husband Joseph of Browns Summit, NC; Great Granddaughter- Ava Carol Levens of Lewisville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson by Rev. Darrell Graybeal. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, Saturday prior to the service.
