John Thomas McCoy Jr.

John Thomas McCoy Jr., better known as “Lil’ John” age 56 of Creston passed away October 19, 2023 at his home.  Mr. McCoy was born January 4, 1967 in Ashe County to the late John Thomas McCoy Sr. and Margaret Osborne McCoy.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Joshua Paul McCoy and brother, Thomas Glenn McCoy.

John loved to hunt and fish. He worked at Vannoy Construction for years and loved doing carpentry work.  He loved his family and friends and his dogs. He was a good friend and neighbor.

A private memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Mr. McCoy is survived by his brother, Bill Osborne of Lansing, aunt, Pauline Lynch of Lansing and uncle, Bud Osborne of Lansing. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
