Johnny "Shep" Michael Shepherd

Johnny Michael Shepherd, better known as "Shep" age 60, of Lansing, died Thursday, August 23, 2017 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Shepherd was a simple man who loved the outdoors.  His many hobbies were, fishing, hunting, hiking and gardening.  He loved his family, grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Sturgills Baptist Church by Rev. Lloyd Day, Rev. Charlie McCoy and Rev. Tom Graybeal. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service.

Mr. Shepherd is survived by:

1 Daughter, Julie Greene of West Jefferson

1 Son, Jonathan Shepherd of West Jefferson

4 Sisters, Georgia Kilby of Mouth of Wilson, Wanda Buckner of Lexington, Patricia Lawrence of Crumpler & Linda Howell of Lansing

2 Brothers, Jim Shepherd of Albarmarle & Jerry Shepherd of West Jefferson

Caregiver, Brenda Barker

5 grandchildren, Ayden Shepherd, Dalton Shepherd, Elizabeth Goodman, Kelsie Goodman and Grace Greene and several nieces and nephews.
