Joseph Emory Gambill

Joseph Emory Gambill, age 65 of Graham, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at UNC Medical Center Chapel Hill. He was born on July 6, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Emory Parks and Betty Jean Miller Gambill.  Mr. Gambill was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Lou and Lois Gambill, maternal grandparents, Lon and Chessie Bower, sister, Nancy Jean Gambill as well as several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joseph loved Chicago sports teams, the Cubs, Bears and especially the Chicago Black Hawks and the Boston Bruins.  He was an avid hockey player and coin collector, he enjoyed trading, fishing and astronomy, a UFO enthusiast, lover of Chicago food and his white Chevy Malibu.

Mr. Gambill is survived by his wife, Melissa Curtis Gambill, his mother, Betty Jean Gambill, siblings, Lori Trent (Will), Daniel Gambill (Debra), Pamela Gambill-Tomalis (Felix), Mark Gambill, George Gambill (Carrie), step-son, Tyler Curtis, Curtis family brothers and sisters, his beloved Khloe “The Wonder Dog” and Gracie and Otis.  Several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Badger Funeral Home by Rev. Lloyd Day.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery.
